I play World of Warcraft and other Blizzard titles with my wife. The issue is, my current microphone dates from the mid 90's and came with my Compaq Presario. It picks up ambient sound and sits on my desk. The people in my voip groups are tired of hearing the neighbors car start and the birds chirping outside my windows in the background of my speech. Add to that, in game noise (not interested in headphones), my wife and kids. The worst part is reverberation and feedback when I my mic is live and others are talking.

I'm honestly searching for either a quality desktop mic that has noise canceling features that will eliminate all of my problems or a neck or head mounted mic that features a boom or arm to bring the mic near my mouth.

My wife will likely need one as well so I guess I'm looking for 2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As for the Sound Bar, My computer build is http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3vV6NG
I just don't have the room for a 7 speaker setup. I am not even sure that a sound bar is what is best. But it looks convenient and may do me much better than some junky built in sound.

Solution
Ok, so as an update:

- I've decided to get Blue's Microphone Yeti, an opposable boom arm and a pop filter to resolve my microphone problem. I made this choice after listening to a large number of video reviews as well as reading through about a thousand customer reviews. From what I could tell there were a few very close canadents for the top spot but a sale on the Yeti won me over.
-The pop filter of course will help resolve some small background noise and avoid harsh speech sounds.
-The boom arm will assist in lowering gain and positioning the mic closer to my face for better pickup of my voice and less pickup for background noises.

As for the speakers after getting some good advice about my home theater system I think I will...
