A few days ago, after returning from a trip, I failed to realize that one of the pockets of my bag was open, consequentially, my PowerNow 5200 mAh portable cell phone charger fell out. The plastic casing had slightly opened, but I was able to click it back together. I tested it on my phone, and it charged it fine. When I went to plug it in to charge it, I noticed a buzzing sound that was coming from the battery. I unplugged the charger, it stopped; I left the charger plugged in and removed the portable battery, and it stopped. Is this device usable anymore? Is it a fire hazard? If so, can it be fixed?

Thanks in advance!

I could not find anything pertaining to that specific product, but it could be that it is simply something called "coil whine" or just "coil noise". It appears to be perfectly harmless. I have a XBox battery charger that gives off a slight buzzy whine as well, and I have used it for years without problem. Likely, when you dropped it, it damaged or shifted whatever was dampening the noise. Keep an eye on it, but I think you will be fine if you continue to use it.
