using recovery discs

I had bought a hp pavilion g6 laptop which had windows8 pre installed on it.But I dont have recovery discs for it.But my friend also has laptop of exactly thesame model.Can i use his recovery discs to recover my windows8?

Yes, as long as the Windows license is the same type.

Windows has a tool built in to make you a recovery disc for your computer. Just do that and use the disc you make.
