Please help! I have been having this problem with games lately and I want to try one more time to use my graphics card before I do a system recovery. Btw, the problem I have is that something is eating up all my CPU and ram. About 4.5gb of my ram is being used while playing a game that takes like 1,100,000 K in the task manager and this is really bad for my already shitty CPU so it goes up to 100% in usage. So anyway that's one problem I have. The other is that my computer isn't detecting my graphics card and when I put in the CD it says that a XFX card isn't installed on my PC btw i have R9 270x... heres my dxdiag pic of the video card http://gyazo.com/47ca4f5bdf583dae822de10b817c6d6e

I'd say the 2 problems are directly linked. The computer doesn't detect a card so when you play games, intel's built in graphics does the job which makes your CPU and RAM usage go up like crazy.

If the computer doesn't detect the video card, make sure you plug your monitor into the CARD and not into the motherboard and make sure the 6pin connector is properly plugged into the card. Also make sure that in your BIOS, the video output priority is set to PCIE and not IGPU. If it still doesn't work, maybe the card is dead or your power supply doesn't provide enough power to make the card work

Your wrong. But only because I forgot to mention that I removed my card earlier today to use my intel graphics to see if my gpu was the problem. Now I'm getting this issue trying to install it again. The 6 pin connectors are solid in there and I do not know how this.bios works... there is no option for what you said

Try removing the card completely and plug your monitor into your motherboard and you should see something.
If your monitor is plugged into the motherboard and the card is plugged in, the screen should be black because it does detect the card.
When it detect a card, the video output goes out from the VGA slot of the card and not from the VGA slot of the motherboard.

Good luck

Erm so I uninstalled the intel drivers and pretty much everything related to those graphics. I put in my graphics card and the fans are spinning and everything but no image from the card. I switch the image to the motherboard and it worked. Why won't my graphics card give me picture?
EDIT: according to the device manager , I am using "video controller (VGA compatible)"
