i use adobe after effects, premiere, and cinema 4d. i also want to be able to use maya, 3ds max, and autocad. I will be buying a quadro later on when i get more money, but for now i want a solid gpu that run call of duty at max settings. please dont even say anything about how a shitty gpu can run cod on max, please know what you are talking about. please help me find a build that is the best bang for the buck for $950 and i want the os and programs to be on an SSD. I also want a 1tb HDD.

I wouldn't recommend a power cooler branded manufacture card, especially with the power hungry hot running amd gpu. You also forgot to add windows ($90), but i'd take the 1866 ram down to 1600, and throw in a better branded gpu. You'll also need to bump the psu up to about 750w. If OP is planning on buying a quadro later on, I don't think he will want to rebuy another psu later on as well. OP, I would try and get budget up another $100, grab a radeon 290 with a good cooler like xfx, msi, asus, or evga. Since your buying a quadro later on, id go amd route for this first card. That way you'll end up with quaddro and cuda, and gain open cl from amd side. The 290 can be overclocked and runs very close to the 290x.

While I own and am a amd fan. And do believe that the 8320 would be the better chipset. You need major overclock to gain full potential, which would include $200 minimal just for cooling, and a better motherboard. At least with the i5 route, its very comparable to the amd, yet gives you the option to get a i7 later on and still use same motherboard.

I use my rig for major video editing as well. Run mostly Sony Vegas Pro 13, have tried adobe just not a fan. Use cyberlink power director 12 for light stuff. Use adobe for picture editing. Run maya, solidworks, and autocad for work, as well as several Rockwell automation software for plc programming and design as well. I have sig in my logo for desktop, but main rig is my msi laptop. I7 4810 (oc to 4.0ghz stock at 3.7), 32gb ram, 3x550gb msata (1 windows 8, 1 windows 7, 1 scratch/temp files), 1tb Samsung evo for data files, gtx 880m 8gb vram. I say all this, as for most rendering, my laptop is really close to my desktop in terms of speed and performance of the render. My desktops biggest 'bottleneck' is transfer speeds. If your looking for major video editing, I recommend getting an external raid cage/bay with 5+ wd blacks in raid. SSD's are great for speeds but its more boost speed than consistant speeds, aka fluctuating speeds. Hard drives in raid will give constant high speeds. But this is by far the most expensive route. A cheaper way would be get a ssd for boot/programs, a ssd for destination files, smaller ssd for scratch/temp render files, and a ssd for source. That's all my 2 cents on the matter.

My build is still reasonable though.

I forgot to add i need a blu ray writer too. I probably will end up going with this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ProgramStudios/saved/KGNgXL

i will probably end up buying the quadro later this year or early 2015 so i am just going to buy an appropriate psu then. an extra psu isn't a bad thing to have on hand.

That build has a really low end gaming card.

And the corsair is overkill, since the motherboard chosen can't handle much more than a slight overclock. I'd either get the Asus pro version of the motherboard, or drop the aio cooler and get a coolermaster hyper evo 212 for $30.

Yes amd chips do get hot. But your motherboard will only allow a small overclock, in which a coolermaster evo 212 would do the job at cooling. The moment you would need your corsair cooler would be at an overclock that your motherboard pvm and vrm cooling couldn't keep up with. So, you'd either need to a) upgrade your motherboard, or b) downgrade your cooling. Otherwise your just wasting money.
