I have a gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 motherboard with a AMD Phenom X4 965 CPU and a GIGABYTE Radeon HD 6850 and i was wondering what I should upgrade first to have my computer run games at ultra settings and not lag. any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello

Without changing your VGA card, you wont achieve better performace in games. It is true in general, aside from some extreme cases.
I would say look for a better VGA card, thats the quickest solution. You should upgrade your CPU and motherboard later to an extent that they wont hold back your new VGA card.

Take a look at this:

Motherboard is mainly there for housing the other components. ( aside from the integrated parts - LAN, Ethernet, Sound card ... )
Your concerns in gaming is VGA > CPU > RAM > motherboard. Just make sure the CPU doesn't bottleneck ( hold back ) the VGA for example.

I looked through the website and was wondering if my CPu would be able to handle either of the GPU's without bottlenecking?

Radeon R7 265
or
GeForce GTX 750Ti
