Computer Red Screens/Crashes

I recently purchased a Seasonic SSR-650RM power supply to replace my Corsair CX500M (the Corsair had a whine, and died when I was troubleshooting a different issue). The Seasonic also has a whine, but my main issue is that since I've installed a new PSU, my screen turns completely red (sometimes blue, but not a BSOD) when I'm playing games. I know that the system is frozen, because there's no audio coming from my headset. I've tried reinstalling the 14.7 drivers, which made the crashes less common, but when I tried the 14.4 WHQL drivers, they weren't any better. What is causing this? How can I fix it?

Specs:
Sapphire R9 270X 2GB
AMD FX-8350
Hyper 212 Evo w/ Noctua NF-S12A PWM
Asus M5A97 R2.0
Seasonic SSR-650RM

Some background on red screens.

Red screen of death, kinda the same like the blue screen of death, but what a red screen means is something is wrong with your graphics card.

Have you installed the proper drivers for your card? And have you tried uninstalling in safe mode, and reinstalling them with the latest drivers from the AMD website?

This might help out as well http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1961964/fix-red-screen-death.html

Uninstall them in safe mode, and then restart your PC normally, and then download them from the AMD website. Restart your PC again, and everything should go back to normal. Try playing a game again, and see if the red screens are gone, or still keep happening.

I get an error with the Windows installer when trying to remove it. A quick search on Google reveals that I need to edit the registry, so I'll let you know what happens.

Hmmm, it could be a issue with the card itself. I'll try calling up Sapphire about it, and maybe they can replace it for you?

Do you have another PC? Maybe you could take out the GPU from your current rig, and put it into a different PC, with the drivers and everything. See if you'll get some red screens as well.

I talked to one of my friends, and they said that it's possible it's the GPU failing. I have a different PC I could test it in, and if I can't figure out the problem, there's a computer shop I know that can diagnose it for free.

I hope not, but I imagine it's possible. When I tested the old PSU, there was no CPU power (it was a semi-modular PSU), and it showed no voltage, but the motherboard power showed the standard 3V.
