Hey,
I bought the Logitech G430 surround headsets, and I'm having a problem with them. I tried different headsets and they all seem to pressure my left ear more than my right ear, and in the case of the G430, the sound is louder on the left (not a software/USB sound card problem, I tried connecting it to the 3.5mm jack on my phone, and the same thing happens).
Using Windows's Speaker level balance, I managed to make it a little bit better, but I can't chose the perfect setting (85 left, 100 right), as it jumps from 84 to 86.

My question is, is there a place in the registry where I can set this manually?

Have you downloaded the logitech software for the headset and see if they have a way to manage the noise levels?

Yes. The Logitech software has a surround sound mixer, but it only has effect in surround stuff. In music, for example, the sound comes only from the "center", and I can't change the left-right level balance of it. Only in the Windows thing.

Realtek's sound manager software would do this, but I'd lose the surround capability if I used it (the G430 have simulated surround sound, only 1 green jack).

Any other ideas?
Thanks :)

Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions. Maybe just return it and say it's defective.

Maybe I'll do that as a last resort. Meanwhile, does anyone else have any suggestions?

It could be a bad sound card. My laptop has the same problem as you do. Try using them on a different source and see if the Logitechs are balanced.

I'm using the Logitech USB soundcard, without it I lose the surround sound. It's not a bad sound card, though, since this also happens when connecting the 3.5mm green jack to my phone :/

If I remember correctly, you can still change it through Windows and have the capabilities of the software at the same time.

I'm assuming you're using Windows 7, although it will be similar for other versions of Windows.

Right click on the speaker icon > Click "Playback Devices" > Find your G430's > Right click it and go to "Properties" > Click on the "Levels" tab > Click on the "Balance" button > Adjust each side to your preference.
