I just got NFS Pro street, my specs are A8 6500, 6GB 1600MHZ RAM, Radeon 8570D. I have it with a low res. and lowest possible settings, i game boost it using Razor game boost and still doesnt help. It says I have 120FPS average even while racing, but is a laggy mess. The FPS, i notice is dropping immensely. I can run Mafia 2 with zero lag with fairly good settings and a 1600x1050 res. and gta iv with some lag but playable. Even in the menus and such it lags? How do i fix this?

Most likely the cause is throttling due to heat. What are your CPU/GPU temperatures at idle and under load?

It sounds specific to NFS Pro Street...since other titles perform well. I would personally disable the Razer Boost (just kills non-game background processes IIRC)...never much cared for tools promising to do things only more HW can.

I would try re-installing the game first. Let us know if that helps.

Ive downloaded the HWMonitor, with my own seperate fan beside the vent it says that my CPU is around 75oc, HDD at 31oc and GPU around 17oc. Not playing any games, just downloading and typing this. Ive read the temps off of the far left side under temperatures, is that correct?

Your CPU is getting too hot. The GPU temp is questionable (too low).

Game is installed again, no game boost, just HWmonitor on, still laggy, especially around corners, on lowest settings. I did a race and temps are maybe 2 or 3 OC more.

I assume you are using the OEM heatsink. If so I would change to an aftermarket model. What make and model case are you using?

I have no idea what case, or what kind of heat sink it is. Its by Acer, i didnt build it myself.

What model of Acer? With the info, we can determine how much room you have to work with.

Yes I'm from Canada. I will look into a CPU cooler for it.

I contacted Acer a couple minutes ago, and they said that unless it turns off completely by itself, its not over heating?

Not true. The CPU will slow itself down to prevent damage from occurring. Once cooler, it will return to normal speed. Only during severe overheating will the system actually shut down.

Well if the heat wrecks it in the mean time its on them.
