Use the RCA (yellow, red, white cable) to Xbox 360 adapter that came with your Xbox 360. It looks like this.
Just plug the RCA cables into the back of your receiver (it should be color coded). You won't get HD 1080p or 720p output though. It only supports up to 480p.

Do you have the component cables (blue,green,red) or av cables (yellow,white,red) that came with the xbox?

Thanks for your help I have the same RCA yellow red white on the other end it is one plug I have solved it I just put the RCA red and white in my reciever and the audio plug in my xbox360 and the sound is great I have advanced sound on this yahama reciever.
