Hi, I am Sasi from Sri Lanka. I am planning to build my first ever PC specially for gaming and a bit of 3D modelling using softwares such as Maya and 3D Max. I know next to nothing about building a PC but have gained some ideas by reading comments on the forum and research on the internet. The following are the components i have in mind.

Processors Intel - 3.50ghz Core I7-3770k 8mb or
Intel I7-4770k 3.50 GHz 8MB Cache or
Core I7-3770k/3.50g/8m

Motherboard Asus Z87-K Ddr3 or
Asus P8Z77-V-LX (depending on the processor)

Ram 8gb Ddr3 Kingston Hyper Khx1600

Vga Cards Asus Geforce GTX660Ti 2GBDDR5

Hard Disk Hitachi 1000gb Sata

SSD 120GB Intel or kingston

Optical Drivers Dvd Writer-Asus 24x Sata Drw24b1st

Casing Cooler Master Rc430 W/O Psu(N/W

Keyboards Keyboard - Logitech K200 Multi Media

Mouse A4 Tech Optical Op-620d Usb Bl(N/W

Please help me choose a good processor, mother board, power supply (mostly only cooler master products are available in my country) and casing. I will be using this rig to play games like the battlefield, crysis, skyrim and some 3 Modelling softwares such as maya and 3D Max. My budget is around $1000-$1400. if there is any other changes to be made in the rig please share them. Will this setp be future proof?

Hello Sasi :) , If you're going to be doing 3D modelling and gaming get a GTX 770 Graphics card, not only would it be great for rendering as such but it will be good for gaming on the side. The CPU choice you should go for is the i7-4770k & the MOBO Asus Z87-K. All setup's aren't 'future-proof' as such but it will last years. Also about the power supply does your country have 'Corsair' products available?

Not it was just the base 770, you can still go for the 660 if you wish both will be great for the things you'll do but the 770 will be faster at rendering when modelling and the overall specs are greater.

I think it's just upgraded spec in general such as shaders.
