Hi, this is in fact my first post so please don't shout at me :)

We have a rig at work which is actually a decent computer. It's got a 3.6ghz amd processor (can't remember model), 8GB hyper x ram, asus m5a78l-m mobo and a stock psu. For storage we use a 64gb SSD for boot and a 500gb sea gate blue hdd for general storage

It's been unused for around four months and recently my manager asked me if I could see and set it up for her so she can have her own desktop pc. After booting it up I obviously cleared it of any useless programs etc. I said it's all ready and she went on it a few minutes later and it said "***title***".

I checked the bios and changed the priority of the drives to how it should be SSD 1st, disk 2nd and removable storage last. Nothing. It still crashed after around 15-20 minutes. Please note, I did stress test both the CPU and ram and on board graphics for the whole time (software used: HeavyLoad)

I told my boss and he advised to buy a new motherboard because the current one was in a bit of a state. We ordered the same one and after being delivered I set it all up again and with high hopes, nothing.

Next (I know, I could write a book...), I grabbed a psu from an old pc at work and chucked it into the pc. I set it all outside the case because it was a nightmare to connect etc. after stress testing again for maybe 20 minutes, it crashed :(

So mobo and psu are out. What else could we do?! Please help and thank you in advance :)

Make sure in the bios you have selected the disk with the OS on, whether it's the SSD, or the Hard drive. if you have checked this an nothing, i must ask when you were un installing programs, where you doing it it by deleting the folders, or un installing them in control panel?

Hi paradise997,

so ur saying that ur computer boots up for about a steady 15-20 mins and then crashes causing a "select proper boot device and press any key" sounds weird I had that happen to me from accidently switching something In my bios but I was able to instantly fix it by resetting the CMOS.

The SSD is definitely where Windows is, I just double checked. I unistalled the programs using Control Panel, as always. I'll attach a screenshot of the Programs list, have a look and let me know which are safe to delete and which I should keep.
