Short version: I tried to remove Ubuntu following the wrong tutorial on YT and now it will only let me replace Windows during the install.

Long version: Ubuntu was working fine but I removed it, put it back on at a lter date but for some reaosn only my extenral HDD was showing up so I picked that one. After it was installed I removed it again following this tutorial watch?v=heO1n73Ua4Q but I wasn't are it was the wrong one so now it will only do a replcade Windows option. I tried formatting the external drive but that didn't get rid of it, then I followed the right tutorial watch?v=AAWBZq04Izc and after that I tried to delete the partition but it wouldn't delete.

Can you clarify a few things? I understand you're trying to re-install Ubuntu on an external drive different from the drive Windows resides on? What are you using to try to format or delete the partitions - are you using Disk Management? What goes wrong in the format process - is there a particular error message?
