I really really enjoyed Final Fantasy Tactics 1+2 and all the different iterations. I would love to play games in that style. So, I'm looking for an arena style rpg that is similar to FF tactics. Preferably on android, but I do have other devices.

You mean a tactical RPG.
They did release FFT:War of the Lions on IOS... that was the primary reason I switched from a Blackberry over to an iPhone.
The only problem is, if they exist, they're gonna be some "F2P" (See: get charged for energy or time or some BS).

I'd be curious what you mean by tactical RPG and "Arena game."
When I hear arena game, I think of MOBAs and maybe things like Quake or CS.
Just because it's a map, doesn't make it an arena.
Yea sorry I should specify, FFTA was kinda MOBA, but when I say arena I mean not open world, or not much travel. There was a world map in some FFT games, but they were very simple. Most of the game was just combat. World maps were more or less an excuse that allowed you to go from battle to battle and choose quests.

Hmm welll.......... I dunno about android games BUT, have you ever tried the Fire Emblem series? They're tactical arena games that don't usually ahve a "world map" (they just follow a series of set battles).
There's also the Super Robot Taisen series (Super Robot Wars in Japan) that is similar tactical map to map game.
