I have had this 780W PSU for years now and thought it might of been its age but i did buy a new processor/motherboard and graphics card to run my games better. When the issue came up i thought it was my old one messing up so i got a new PSU which worked for a couple of days then it did the same thing but this one had 0 chance of booting up after a few trys unlike my old one which would boot up after a few trys (this PSU is completely broken now) well the new one will boot up after a day of not being on but will shut itself off again afte about 5-10 mins. i have monitored the temps and they all seem within reason.
I thought this could be overheating but i have left my computer off all day and night and have gone to turn it on even when i shut it off myself and it will have trouble kicking in the power.
Could this just be a PSU issue and i had really bad luck with the new PSU or could this actually be caused by another component?
My Specs
CPU = AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8350 Black Edition 4.00GHz (Socket AM3+)
GPU = GeForce GTX 660 Ti
MB = The ASRock 970 Extreme3 board is designed to build up the most powerful system and delivers the most demanding technology for users nowadays.
Old PSU = Not sure on brand. It was pretty cheap from a local shop but was a 780W last me over 4 years until i upgraded my computer parts then only lasted a couple months
New PSU = Corsair Builder Series CXM 750W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU
Any help on this situation would be much appreciated since i have returned the new PSU back and have spent a bit more money on what seems to be a more powerful PSU with good reviews. I am hoping this will resolve the issue but i would like some feed back when i can
