Hello, i've successfully overclocked the system Ram, CPU, GPU. I have run my settings for months, with no instability @ 4.0Mhz. HOWEVER, these clock settings are not to the full potential as described by other A10 overclockers. I followed this guide

bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2014/01/30/amd-a10-7850k-and-a10-7700k-kaveri-review/2

The problem is basically this. I have an Unlocked multiplier that I cannot adjust, unless I use software and crash every 30 mins.

I cannot screen shot the bios, another problem.

I want 4.2Ghz CPU (Genie Goes up to 4)
I have achieved 900Mhz GPU
I have achieved 2400Mhz RAM

How do I post a screenshot? Bios screenshot did not succeed.

And from there, can we unlock, the unlocked multiplier? LOL

I followed every step, in the above article, until I realized I cannot adjust CPU voltage or clock multiplier.

CPU-NB remains adjustable, up to level "31" (what?) 3100Mhz,(indicated) which is lower than OC genie function. It remains on "AUTO" for now. The standard clock settings are un-adjustable. I have noticed these grayed out areas, are adjustable once I disable auto-features, yet I still cannot select the MP, and V levels at all through BIOS. I must be missing something!

Thanks in advance!

Joseph

Solution

Try +/- on your number pad. It's a K so it should be able to unlock.

So I have seen, that the BIOS will disable these functions, if the processor does not support it. Also, it specifies that when Turbo-Core technology is set to auto, it "may" allow me to adjust functions such as core ratio, and core frequency. Also, I have intel ram. So I am using, intel extreme memory profile. Does this affect the CPU clock settings somehow?

You don't want to change the Base frequency. That's an APU crasher since it is tied to the PCI clock as well.

You are going to change the CPU multiplier/ratio. See where to do that?

Glad it was that easy. I was about to see if you needed a special BIOS, lol.

Let me know if you have more questions pertaining to OC. I haven't played with Kaveri yet, but I'm familiar with the FM2+ mobos.
