PSU or motherboard failure?

My computer powers on but nothing displays on my monitor. Only 1 fan at the top of my case powers on while the rest don't. My GPU's fans turn on but they seem a little slow.

Holding down the power button doesn't turn off my computer so I have to switch off my PSU to turn my computer off.

Before all of this, I would have random spats where my computer would just basically shut off; the tower would stay on as well as the fans and everything but my display would just go away as if I shut down my computer.

I'm thinking it's my PSU but could it be something else?

Also to note, I tried turning on my computer a few minutes ago and the one fan on top started to turn on but then stopped and then eventually started.

If your psu is a cheap unit, it is most likely the culprit.
What do you have?

Overall, yes the computer lights up. It lights up but only some fans turn on.

The TX750 is a very good unit and strong enough.
I would not suspect the psu as a problem.
Are all of the power leads securely inserted int their places?

See if you can't borrow a known good psu to test with.

At this point my suspicions would lean toward the motherboard.

Perhaps it was a loose cable or something as I have resolved the issue and my computer is booting up again.
Thanks for the help! I'll hope the problem does not persist!
