Questions on the Corsair H100i

So, I just bought myself an H100i. I assembled it, it's running fine, but I was wondering; do I actually need the USB cord? I downloaded the Corsair Link program, but it didn't let me do anything except update the drivers and give me the temps. So, because all I can see that it does is take up room, do I need the USB cord that comes with it?

no, not really, but it helps control fans I think

Well, like I said, it's not letting me change anything. I also have the fans plugged into my motherboard, if that makes a difference

hm... have you tried looking at the product page? or product reviews on youtube? Either one or the otehr will tell you what the USB is for
