Overclocking AMD Problem

I have the AMD FX 8320 and when I attempt to test out voltage/speeds using the sliders in OverDrive I have noticed that whatever I do the CPU speed is always at least 200mhz higher then what I have set it at. This has caused blue screens and freezes and I am wondering what has caused this? Temperatures are fine as I run under load at 4.4ghz about 55 degrees Celsius. I have the Asus M5a99fx pro motherboard
Any help is appreciated

The CX 500 isn't the best unit to overclock on, but if you have 60w gpu, whatever...

Anyways, stable at 4.7 would probably require more voltages. I would try to avoid going past 1.4 if you're using an air cooler. Check temps while you're stress testing.
It's easier to just overclock through the bios in my opinion. More control of different factors and what not.

As for the BSOD, if its overclocking through the fsb, it could be the RAM that's causing the BSODs.

Side note, just as a check, what's your PSU?

Its the Corsair CX500. Overclocking is usually fine its just when I try using overdrive I set the multiplier to 20-21 (4-4.3ghz is where I can usually get it with minimal tweaking) and when I check to see the temps it is running at 4.7ghz when I never set it that high.

Corsair PSU's have bad capacitors in their CX or "builder series" as most say and can agree on. That could be your problem.
