Hello all,

I have build my own pc, but I am stuck with the speakers that are in my screen. I thought about buying the z906 from Logitech. Now, I was thinking can't I build one from scratch with an car subwoofer and amp? Is there anyway I could make that for my pc?

If so, can anyone tell me how?

Cheers, Andy

using a car sub and amp can be done, but is messy, requires 12v power supply to power the car amp, and car amps need a pre-amp. Messy and costly for a poor result IMO. You can get a lot of 5.1 all in one box home theatre systems from Onkyo, Yamaha and Pioneer for a similar price to the logitech setup and are better quality. There is nothing wrong with using a home theatre system rather than a "multimedia" system for your PC.

yes, that is the recommended retail price on the onkyo site, you can find them in stores for nearly half that. Just have a look at your local hi-fi/electronics store. I picked up this http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/Home-Theate... for AU$200 in Australia on sale. It was half the price of the logitech z906 at the time.
