Purchasing a GPU from the US?

Hello there,

I am in the process of saving up some money to purchase a AMD Radeon 7990 Graphics Card.

Here, in the UK, the cards are about £350 on eBay.co.uk - But, if I navigate to eBay.com, they are considerably cheaper, even for higher end coolers and such.

Could I realistically buy my new 7990 off eBay.com (US)? Or would I be bombarded with import duties and tax etc?

The reason I am asking is because, on eBay.com (US), I can get a XFX 7990 Triple Dissipation for near enough the same price as a Reference 7990 on eBay.co.uk

Thanks for your time,
Thomas.

I HAVE to buy my new 7990 from eBay because it's a discontinued card and, to my knowledge, cannot be purchased brand new anymore.

Thomas.

Why can't you get a newer card? are you planning to crossfire?

Because I want a GPU that will last me a long time and could play at resolutions upto 4K if required.

The 7990 is the most powerful and fastest single card on the market, aside from the new 295X2

Thanks,
Thomas.

I don't think it's neitehr the most fastest or most powerful, a 350 pound card is not going to have either as its accolade, get a 780 or r9 280

EDIT : oops I take it back

(facepalm) Yet again... underestimate cards too much.

I didn't underestimate? and you think all the benchmarks on the internet are fake so what would you know?

not really, it could get damaged on its way here and shipping costs too,

Never said that. Just most are ran on either crap systems or are biased.

why would review sites run it on bad systems? and why would they be biased? I know gpu boss etc. are, but hexus and bittech are both reliable sources of information, so stop plz. plz.

Please, please, trust someone who has had gametime and hours. I will give it a good review and recommend it to people if I think it's good. Why would I lie?

I'm not saying the card is bad, I'm just saying, why would reviewers lie about their benchmarks? What would be in it for them? Personally I'd trust benchmarks from a legit site than your own 'experiences'
