Cmon guys, Let's be mature about this, Forget colours.
Alex KElly has made some very very good point on the B85 PRo Gamers side, if anyone else has some differences, feel free to contribute.
Moving on: Another board that has caught my attention is the B85 Vangaurd, I know the advantages of it.
but I would like to know....Realistically what's the audio difference between that and the B85 PRO Gamer?

Nothing to be honest. If you don't make songs or you aren't the ultimate music analyst, audio wont be too noticeable. But ASUS is better for many reasons. They have great VRM's, never get hot, look great, and support PLENTY of different configuration options. Gigabyte is great, but ASUS is more dependable.

They're both great boards that have no problem staying cool.
You probably wouldn't notice the difference in audio, I just thought I'd mention it as it's a difference that exists
The Asus board won't support any more 'different configuration options' though, they're very similar.
I meant more sockets then Gigabyte, different budgets, super high-end and super low-end builds etc...

How would the B85 G43 Gaming from MSI Compare?

It's another decent board.Just go with the Asus tbh. It's go the most features & options and looks the best imo.
^ lol almost exactly what I said before.
It can OC, that's why I like it. Just because I recommend the Asus board, doesn't mean I'm copying your answer. Lel.

Hmm, If you're getting a 4670K you should definitely get a Z87 or Z97 board to go with it, you can OC on the B85 but all you can change is the multiplier and voltage (nothing else) so if you're looking to get a nice OC out of it you should go for a cheap Z series board.
So you're saying, OCing on a B85 Board is only really viable on a Pentium G3258?

Well, it's possible on other CPUs, I just don't really recommend it as you can't change a lot of settings.
You probably won't need to, but it's nice to have the option there and if you can afford a D14 I think it'd be a better idea to get a 4690K + Z97 board + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO instead. That'll get you to at least 4.3Ghz

I was using the D14 as an example, no way would I buy one. Too much.
I've heard the 212 EVO can push to 4.5Ghz anyway. And that's what I would be buying coupled with the B85 Board...What do you think?

I think it sounds good
If you can afford a Z97 board though, it would be guaranteed to be completely compatible out of the box and has a lot of extra features like cache ratio and voltage changes, which can improve performance even further. The ASRock Z97M Anniversary Edition is a great cheap overclocker. If you buy a B85 board for the 4690K you run the risk of it not booting, because only the new BIOS' support OCing, and the new 4690K. You might get one with a new BIOS, you might not. Definitely recommend going for the Z97 for this reason.

Ah That's the thing I'll be buying a 4670K (here in the Uk for some stupid reason the 4690K costs £30 more....even thought Intel said it would be the same, and it's a similar scenario for all the new refresh chips such as the 4790k and the i3 4150.)
I could buy a Gigabyte Z97P D3 for the same price as the B85 Vanguard however that voice in the back of my head is telling me since it's one of the cheapest Z97 Chipsets around, It might have a Z in front of it, but I reckon it'll have sh*t OC performance, An Example is the Z87 PC Mate from MSI, I've read that it just can't do OC due lack of good enough VRMs even thought it has the Z87 Branding.

Yeah, that is true man. But they should still OC better than a B85 board. The B85 will work great with a 4670K though, as you don't need the latest BIOS to be able to boot (you'll still have to update it to OC though).
Screw this...I'm gonna buy a B85 PRO Gamer and just throw a Xeon E3 1230V3 in there lol, I like my out of the box performance.
