I was told by my friend to build my own PC and not buy a pre-built and sent me to this website for help. I was also wondering how difficult building a PC will be?

I will mostly be playing MMO's and your average FPS every now and then but mostly MMO's.
Some of the games I'm looking forward to playing are ArcheAge and Black Desert.

I'm willing to go a bit above 900 if I have to so I can play these games without lag.

More about : build gaming 900

Graphics card: R9 280X
Processor: Intel Core I5 4690K
RAM: Team Group Xtreem Dark 8 GB ram 12800/1600mhz 2x4
Power Supply: Corsair CX600M 600W
Storage: WD Green WD5000AZRX 64MB 500GB
Motherboard: ASRock H87M
Case: Gigabyte GZ-M1BPD

It will handle any game you throw at it (even bf4) at ultra and 60fps
Its not very hard to build one yourself. Its like building with lego, but much easier :p

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($75.60 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.92 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280X 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($294.99 @ Newegg)

IMHO i think that is too overkill for a MMOs that he will play,.
lastly he doesnt need to OC i5 its powerful enough base on what he needs.
he will need an ODD

but +1 for your SSD, its optional

This looks absolutely perfect! I didn't add it on my list of things but I'm also planning on maybe recording said games, will I be able to do this on max settings or will I have to lower them to be able to record gameplay?

This will be able to record several videos on highest without any lag at all. It's an EXTREME overkill really. You could get a descent MMO gaming machine for 500.

you are right chuck
maybe i can adjust it into G3258 ,FX6300 or Athlon X4 760k rig
so it will not be overkill, $500 can do it. but im wondering i dont know if it will be well on streaming just like my $900 gaming rig that i built
