Yesterday I bought and installed a Zalman CNPS10x Performa, but after gaming, I found that the temperatures weren't that different from the stock CPU. I have a fx 6300, it idles at about 40 degrees, and while gaming goes up to 58(with the zalman cooler). I did some stress tests with AMD Overdrive and the temperatures went up to about 60.
While installing the Cooler, I took off the Zalman heatsink (which I had just applied thermal grease on) and set it back down a few seconds later. I have no idea why I did this, but it happened.
Anyway, what I'm basically asking is whether my temperatures are normal for this cooler.
installing the heat sink was a real pain, and I would rather not do it again unless necessary.

Thanks for the reply!
I accidentally pulled off the heatsink after applying thermal paste, and put it back on again.
I personally thought the temps would be a lot better for an aftermarket cooler, especially when it didn't do that much better than stock (maybe 3-4 degrees).

Not all coolers are made equal. It might work better if you added another fan to the heatsink, and maybe the case as well. But it won't get cooler than the room ou're in anyways
