The Hive is hit or miss. There are many more worse PSUs out there, but certainly you can do better if overclocking is your thing. As far as the Hyper 212, it won't be the limiting factor as far as thermals. This CPU has mediocre thermal interface under the lid. So you could run into a heat barrier before you max out your 212 if you get what I'm saying. Intel put some better paste unter there on the Haswell refresh.

I wouldn't say overclocking is my "thing" persay. Tbh I dont care to do it or not I just know its good to have later on down the road in the future and I've heard it better for redering video (I plan to mess around with game recording). I Just need to know if ill be pushing the PSU to far with the 770 plus ocing

The performance of the "mediocre interface" is actually better than just about anything you can buy aftermarket. The problem is there is a wide gap between the IHS and die to fill. The improvement people see from de-lidding to replace the stock paste under the IHS is from removing the glue around the lid that keeps the IHS off the die.

I would not recommend overclocking on this PSU. look for a high-quality Seasonic, XFX, or Corsair 650w unit

No doubt you could push to the limits of the PSU. There is always a limit. It might be power. More likely it will be thermal. It's a Sirtec PSU, which I would still rate above Channel Well (Corsair CX) as far as quality.
