Hello

I am going to build a Z97 system with an i7 4790K, it will have a dvdrw drive, 250gb ssd, 120gb ssd, GTX660, 16gb ram and some kind of aftermarket cpu cooler.
I might get the 700 series Nvidia gpu or a 800 series later.

What wattage psu should I look for?

I might build a x99 system with the 5820K with the same specs as the above but with DDR4 ram, and probably a series 700 Nvidia gp or 800 series Nvidia gpu when it comes out.

What wattage psu for that?

The single most power hungry component in your system is the graphics card. Systems are built to support these primarily.

A GTX 660 has a system requirement of a 450 Watt power supply. A GTX 770 or better is going to require "600 watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 42 amps on the +12 volt rail" or better.
