Yo! guys,
I was wondering what would be best for my rig in terms of GPU (r9 270x asus one or dual x 280x sapphire one or sm other)for playing games on a 26 inch Samsung mostly and a 40 inch 3D TV smtimes in full HD resolution. And yes that includes all the current and upcoming titles, I don't do multiplayer much except for super street fighter 4 AE.

My rig is -
AMD fx 6300 @ 3.5ghz
Asus m5a78lmt usb3
Corsair vengeance 4gb x 2 @ 1600mhz
Corsiar vs 550w PSU
Asus DVD writer 24x
Antec A20 CPU cooler
Zebronics rolls out the beast atx case
Zebronics companion 2 wireless keyboard + mouse
Xbox 360 wireless controller for windows

Thanks in advance for your help, this is my first rig and I had saved money for like 2 years and GPU will be a gift from my mom.

Sapphire dual-x is very quiet when idle but very loud when under load. Asus is quite loud when idle but somewhat more quiet when under load. The other differences are marginal.

R9 280X is probably the better choice, you will be able to run 1440p easily but the processor might give you a hard time so you will need to cut down some of the details... but not by much!

And by the way, that PSU isn't enough. It will suffer heavily under the load of the graphics card!

Thanks for the reply guys, much appreciated, BTW considering my PSU what model of r9 280x would be the best for me? Is there any difference between the models in terms of power consumption or should I consider Nvidia if they are like maybe less of a power hog? Please help me out guys.

More like 300... plus the CPU under load, Plus memory under load, plus mobo under load... just so that you know, manufacturer claims that the minimum PSU power should not be below 850W... I got 650 and it works just fine.

Good deal. Im getting the 280 non-x but i have a tx 750w psu. My bigger concern was that my psu had the right plugs(which it does). If hes ganna overclock everything then a higher watt psu will be nice too.
