Thought I would post this in systems see if anyone would know.

Specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qZjygs

Basically I thought this pc could run bf4 on high settings due to bf4's multi core optimization and it turns out that once again, even in this game that actually is optimized towards amd systems, I get massive fps drops.

Video: http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2ptcf8i&s=8 (high settings, vsync on due to screen tearing)

Map in video was not even 64 player, it was between 24-32 people.

Even without vsync it drops to the 40's and after that video there were even drops to the 30's. Is my system that bad? I spent a lot of money and it can't game at all with what I've experienced. I noticed in closed maps, like maps mainly under roofs and stuff, it seems to do a lot better at staying stable.

Here's another game Defiance: http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2mgt5ax&s=8#.U-XotvldU32

Same issue of fps drops.

My fx 6300 is at stock, no overclock because no aftermarket cooler but I doubt it will improve my performance THAT much when I am getting over 20 frames of drops.

Temps are fine, latest video drivers, benchmarks did good, even exceeded other builds with same setup as me.

Even in bf3 I get fps drops, on high-ultra still drops to 50's or 40's, mostly in low 40's in 64 player maps and in some other smaller maps too except the really really small ones.

So, what's going on?

Thanks for any help.

Well it has a 4.1 ghz turbo boost so isn't that an overclock technically?

You'll need to raise it to 4.5Ghz or so to eliminate any bottlenecks. Turbo boost isn't overclocking unless you raise the turbo boost speed.

My CPU's default is 3.4Ghz and 3.8Ghz turbo. I raised it to 3.6Ghz and 4.4Ghz meaning it's overclocked as I'm making the CPU run at over 4Ghz.

Dam, I'm just pissed that noone told me before I bought the build, they said that it's fine and there will be no bottleneck but I guess not. So I'm technically screwed? I can't buy an aftermarket cooler either so that's out of the question.

I see, well you said at 4.5 ghz it will eliminate any bottlenecks but I don't think that would happen on a stock cooler lol, idk though because I've never overclocked before.

CPU overclock is done through your PC's BIOS. It's relatively simple. Just raise the BCLK multipliers one at a time and stop when your PC fails to boot. After 3 unsuccessful boots you'll be back in the BIOS and you can revert backwards to a point where your computer is stable. Then run Prime95 for 15 minutes to check system stability.

I see, so if I can't get it to 4.5 ghz, then just go back to default?

You might get to 4.4Ghz or something. I got to 4.4Ghz and couldn't get to 4.5Ghz no matter how hard I tried. Doesn't mean that you should revert back to stock if you can't get there as you will benefit from the higher clock.

I see, the only thing that is leaving me hesitant is that I see you have an intel cpu while I have an amd cpu, so idk if theres a difference in the potential of how much overclock on stock cooler can go based on the different cpu's. Also, what are your cpu temps with your 4.4ghz under load since you are on stock cooler as well?

And also, when you say 4.4 ghz is that with the turbo boost? If so, what is your base default speed without turbo? or did you disable turbo boost and 4.4 ghz is the default speed now?

The overclock potential is dependant on what generation of CPU it is mainly. For example, Intel Sandy Bridge apparently overclocks higher than Intel Haswell, but Haswell has higher per-core performance so it evens out. With stress testing my CPU reaches 67 degrees which is what Intel recommends is the max, but when actually using my computer for something my CPU never goes above 60 degrees. When gaming it stays around 55 degrees. Most AMD CPUs can reach above 4Ghz, a few can reach 5Ghz, but that's slightly irrelevant when comparing Intel/AMD as Intel has more efficient, more expensive CPUs. A stock Intel Core i5 will beat any AMD CPU at gaming atm.

My default speed is set to 3.6Ghz because I modified the CPU's base clock (from 100 to 104.9897...) which adds on an extra 0.2Ghz to the base clock. Turbo boost isn't disabled, it's just set so that instead of going to 3.8Ghz it goes to 4.4Ghz as a result of my overclock.

Oh, I see.

Anyways, I did some tests and statistics I wanted to show you, my cpu temps seemed normal, around 46C under load in bf4/Planetside 2. I used hwinfo64 and went by the temp listed under my processor (fx 6300). My gpu temps were around 50-60C under load but my GPU usage was around 40-50% in bf4 when compared to 80-90% in planetside 2. Voltages were around 1.363 maximum under load and my max speed was 3.8 ghz, despite the overclock turbo boost saying it goes to 4.1 Ghz. This was with cool n quiet and turbo boost enabled. In my opinion everything seems normal but I'm not sure if it'll be safe to overclock on my stock cooler with those temperatures.
