asus z87k and i5 4690 - bios update with cpu on board

Asus in its support says tha bios update is "SUGGESTED" nut will I be able to update bios with cpu on board? I have no previous version of the cpu available.....

The motherboard might come with the BIOS that is compatible with the i5 4690. It might not. See if you can find a computer repair shop that is willing to help you update the BIOS with a compatible cpu.
