I'm going for a low end card that I will upgrade hopefully in about january but what is the difference between 1gb of memory or 2gb. I'm going to be buying a 650ti because i'll be playing older games that are not intensive. The newest game I'll probably play is Battlefield 3. I think they wrecked bf4 and i'm not a cod fan. I will be doing some light video rendering though. Anyways, if someone could explain to me what it does for me, or link a good article about it.

More about : video card memory

With a larger video memory, you are then able to run games at a higher resolution. 1gb might not be sufficient for some games that are out in the market today. But since you said that you are going to play games that are older, 1gb should be enough for you. If i were you, i would get a 2gb for some extra overhead, though it might be unnecessary.

Ram usage is for your textures anti aliensings and quality from my understanding using gpu-z. Skyrim 720 ultra settings 600mb with calientes mod 1080 1.1gb. Deus ex human revolution 720p 400mb 1080p 600-800mb

Just download the software to tinker around with it the 2gb model will be good if you like games like skyrim with millions of mods or open world games

yeah i think i will just get 1gb because i'll be playing somewhat older games, and using shadow play to record. I plan on upgrading to a 770 hopefully in january.
