If I was to clone my boot drive and transfer it to a new Pc(New motherboard and everything) would everything load up as normal (ie the OS and other programs I have installed on it ) and could I also transfer my storage drive ?

Am assuming I might need a product key for the os which I have but would everything load up on both hard drives as they would on the current pc?

Solution
If you're going to a new mobo you'll need the product key for the boot drive, the storage drive will just move straight across.

Nope it should all be fine. Do you have the OEM version of windows or a retail version? OEM you might have to deal with microsoft as they only allow you to install the OS onto one motherboard. You can also do something called sys preping. If i were you, i'd clone the HDD, then take out the old HDD, sys prep the new HDD before putting it in the new computer.
