jack extension confusion

hello. i am going to buy some 3.5mm jack extensions for my headset with individual headphone and microphone jacks, because i don't want to go under my table to switch between my speakers and headset. do i need to buy special headphone jacks and special microphone jacks, or can i just buy any 3.5mm jack extension and use that for either cable?

No special cable needed, just a standard 3.5 mm extension of the length you need for each will work fine. HERE is where I buy them -- the ones at the bottom of the page with a single male and single female end.
