Hey guys ,

My spec :
Asus Z87 A
Intel i5 4670K boxed
2 × 4 gb Ddr3 ballistix by crucial cl9 1600 mhz
AMD GPU (don't know it exactly sorry, if needed I look it up, I'm on my smartphone ATM)
Be quiet black 1000W

I wanted to upgrade my system with a new CPU, ram and mobo.
After installing the components I realised that the red CPU led was on.
I did some troubleshooting already and benched.
Currently there's only the CPU and hsf outside of the case installed.
9 out of 10 times the CPU led stays red , 1 out of 10 the check is successful and it stays red on the ram led (I guess because I don't have the ram installed ? )

Does someone now what I could try, or how I can find out if the main board or the CPU is defect.
(Pins are not visible damaged , reinstalled the cooler in different directions)

Thank you for your time in advance

Something is wrong with the socket, or more unlikely the CPU itself.
I'm not sure what I can suggest, if I were you I'd try using another CPU in the mobo, and if that doesn't work then RMA the motherboard.

Wow that was fast :)
I don't have a second CPU I could try on this socket. I guess I have to send back the mobo without knowing the problem. Or I'm gonna talk with the customer support send back booth and let them figure it out

Edit : could it be i didn't get a new no mono from the retailer or is it the norm that there aren't screws delivered with the mobo ?(I had to use the old ones )

The screws for the motherboard come with the case.
I'd suggest sending in both your CPU and motherboard and they'll be able to figure it out for you. :)
