So I'm planning to build a gaming PC and play games like Guild wars 2, BF4, Dayz, minecraft and I have many questions. Would I be able to play on ultra in 1080p? Is the GPU and CPU a good combo? Can I use this mobo eventhough I'm not overclocking my cpu? Should I get 1600mhz ram or 1866mhz ram? Is the monitor good for gaming?

Graphic card: Vapor-x R9 270x
Processor: Intel I5 4570
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866 Mhz
Power supply: Corsair RM550
Hard drive: WD 1Tb Caviar Blue
Optical Drive: Samsung 24x
Case: Corsair Carbide 300r windowed

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM
Monitor: BenQ 24 inch 1920x1080
Keyboard: Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 Black
Mouse: SteelSeries Mouse Sensei RAW Guild Wars 2 Edition

Thanks,

That's a great price for the vapor-x version, I mean, it's cheaper than everything else... I'd get a 4590, and you should get an H97 motherboard, there's the MSI Gaming 3 H97 board if you want to stay with something similar, if not the H97 Pro4 is nice. Get a seagate barracuda (faster and cheaper) .

But would it be better to stay with that motherboard in case one day I might decide to get an i5 4670k to overclock if my current cpu ever outdates. I heard that if you use OEM operating system then it sticks to the motherboard. So if I wanted to get another motherboard then I would have to get another OS.

I had a look at the I5 4590 and its only £4 more expensive which is good :). But apparently, if I do go with the 4590 and Z87 motherboard then I would have to update the bios so it's compatible, which I don't understand to do :(.

I'm looking at the seagate barracuda and thinking to get the 500gb. But how is seagate barracuda faster if both go at 7200rpm?

OK, so first of all get a z97 motherboard then (it will work with broadwell as well, so you will have a much better upgrade path in the future) As for upgradi.ng to the 4690k (the 4690k is newer so you shouldn't even consider the 4670k as they are about the same price.), it wouldn't be worth it as you will only get a very small performance boost.. The only viable upgrade I can think of is getting a broadwell i7 when they come out next year (a broadwell i5 wouldn't (I should probably say "shouldn't" as you can't be sure of how it's going to be, but this is usually how it goes) be much of an upgrade either, even with the new platform.). The windows 8 license is called OEM system builder, they changed it so that there's only one license and its not attached to your mobo, you can transfer it to another PC at any time. (So I'm basically telling you to get windows 8, it will be better for that purpose) And get the 1tb barracuda as you'll get more for your money.

Little indecisive what to do for the mobo now. I could get a MSI Z97 gaming 3 but I'm now more tempted to get a MSI H97 Gaming 3 like you originally said. The i7s seems expensive now would this be the case with the ones to come next year?

Could you tell me is there any difference between the three motherboards we dicussed about in terms of quality and features?

Also, I took your advise about the 1tb seagate barracuda and I'm planning on getting it and I rather have win 7 since I dislike win 8 .Thanks,

Yes, that would still be the case, they will probably retail around the $250 mark (usually under) if they stick to their pricing. The H97 Pro4 is much cheaper and you won't see much of a difference, just look at the connectivity and see what you need. They're all well built, so I can't really say anything about that, even though they won't be as good as the higher-end motherboard as you'd expect.

It wouldn't be a big difference would it like a difference of 2 fps. Could I achieve the same core base clock by overclocking the vapor without the boost?

Would a r9 270x toxic be a better option and worth the money, is there hardly any difference between the vapor and toxic

Yeah, the clock speeds would have just been overclocked for you in the factory, I wouldn't say you'd get the same speeds, but close enough to its speeds that there will be no difference between the 2, I think its the tri x then toxic then vapour in ranking of the performance

I'm not aware of about xfx branded gpu's, are they good quality.

I looked at the msi but its 2048mb, what does that mean? is it good or bad, or is the a 2gb gpu better?

btw thanks for both of you for help
