Ok so I have a 9800GTX+ 512mb card, the fan on it just fell off while i was playing online. I can put it back on but when I do and turn the pc back on it sounds like its grinding against it somehow, my question tho is can you fix that ? and if I continue to use it without the fan and use like a house fan directly on it will that help or will it ruin my motherboard , I am a noob with all this so that is why I am here :)

The card is in danger if run fanless. Some people have mounted a case fan with some handy work but really maybe it is time to upgrade.

yes ditch that card it outdated and using it like that is dangerous .......the grinding sound is probably because the fan is touching some thing and blowing a high speed fan into your gpu may help but still it may cause overheating issues...

The whole fan/motor assembly or just the blades?
If it's just the blades you've not quite got it seated correctly, try gently pushing/twisting it to seat it fully.
AH! The old 'case fan and cable ties' trick. ;)
It's not too tidy but does work, and it's cheap. Make sure you remove the old fan or blades, though, they block the airflow and can create a lot of noise.
Depending on fan type you may be able to source a replacement, Newegg has some and there is plenty listed on Ebay.
