Hello,

Recently the following occurred.

  • Attempt to turn PC on, from Off status.
Windows Did not Boot and hung on the "starting windows" screen for close to an hour. (This happened twice until it finally booted)
    Loads Windows 7
"Superfetch" is automatically disabled causing massive delay when opening applications.
    Run system repair
    Turn Superfetch on
System works normally, for a while.

Over time, the system will begin to freeze up again.

This issue occurred after I was playing Divinity Original Sin on Steam and my PC randomly just shut itself down.

To me, it seems as if there is actually an issue with the hard drive, and the windows issues are just symptoms.

It's hard for me to be sure however, since sometimes after using the steps above, Windows will run normally for a while and I'm able to play games, use the internet etc.

Is it possible that Windows 7 SuperFetch is interfering with the SSD or vice-versa? Is the Super Fetch issue just a symptom of a larger problem with the SSD?

I just also note that I left my PC on, running a Norton virus scan all night. However about halfway through the scan, the PC basically just froze. Forcing a reboot, into system repair, turning super fetch on and now everything works again.

I'm concerned however that this will happen again.
