Hi Guys,

I have this issue where after installing the graphics driver and rebooting, the screen becomes black after the windows logo. IF i uninstall the graphics driver, everything works fine. Except it displays "VGA Adapter" instead of my graphics card name and of course i cant play any games. I have tries everything i mean drivers that are available but still the same issue. I am using following setup

Fx6300
MSI r9 270x
Asus M5A97 R 2.0 Motherboard ( NO onboard graphics)
Seasonic JS 750 ss Power supply.
Windows 7 Enterprise
4 Gb Corsair Vengence Ram

I have seen a lot of people having the same problem but no definite solution Please help me guys, its a new build and not working. How do i find out what the problem is..graphics card, driver, powersupply..i am really at a loss

I once had the same "problem". Installed my new Msi R9 270x connected my TV, and my two monitors. Boot into windows.. all is good. Install the driver. Restart.. Windows start screen and everything goes black on the login screen. I check my cables. The computer is running and everything seems ok. Then I turn on the TV only to see that the R9 270x would prefer the HDMI connection to the DVI/VGA. Log in change the settings to my two monitors and everything works... but that was me.

Is the fact that my video works properly without drivers means that graphic card is not faulty becuase it is able to give some kind of output. I mean my motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics ..but I still get video..does this mean GPU is okay and some other part is faulty???
