My motherboard is a wee-bit bent?

About two weeks ago I accidently short out my motherboard while installing it into my new case. I've immediately ordered a new motherboard back then. Today, I was going to do better cable management in my chassis. I hooked everything off, until I noticed something pretty weird.. the onboard USB sockets (USB 2.0, on the top of the board) were not perfectly aligned with the I/O shield, which I thought was weird. I took everything out of my chassis and noticed that the motherboard was a bit bent upwards where the USB and onboard audio are located. I think it has something to do with my aftermarketcooler (ZALMAN CNPS10X Optima). Is it bad for a motherboard to have a tiny bend in it? Should I re-attach my CPU cooler? I don't want another board to crash on me...

What board?

Most of the time with a slight bevel or bend everything is fine.

I've an ASUS Z87-A motherboard. The bent is almost unnoticeable, but it is there. I'm not experiencing any issues so I doubt it will cause me future problems.

No it will be fine , I had an Asrock that had a slight bend and it's still running great.

I think I've found a possible solution. A few other guys here on the Tom's Hardware forums had the same issue as me. They recommended to change the standoffs to lower types of standoffs. My motherboard did not bend in my previous case, so I think it is indeed possible that the standoffs are causing this problem. I will replace the standoffs tomorrow and will let you know how it went.

Be sure to tighten them evenly throughout the board and not over-tighten heatsink.

I've loosened the screws of my heatsink a bit before reattaching the heatsink. I'll make I tighten the standoffs even troughout the board tommorrow.

I have replaced the standoffs with the ones that I got with my Cooler Master case back in december, when I built my PC. They are a few mm lower, and my motherboard is now aligned better with the I/O shield and cannot be pushed down like with the previous standoffs. I will install a Corsair H100i next month, so I'll see if it was not the weight that was warping my board.
