I and my friend have hp pavilion g6 2226tu laptop which had windows8 pre installed in them.But i have lost my recovery discs and recovery partition also has been deleted.Can i use his recovery discs to recover windows8 on my laptop?

if both have the same parts in with the same specs it should work do a perfect copy of the recovery disc and what happens to made you loose the recovery partition .

There might be something within the ROM dictating the exact serial number of the PC but unlikely, should work.

The devices must both be the same model number. If this is true then recovery media will work on both versions, in relation to sup3rhornet's reply the Key is embedded into the BIOS as explained but will have no effect on allowing the disk to install the recovery partition/media back to the drive.
