Hi. I recently purchased a new PSU and GFX card...Corsair CX600M and MSI Radeon R280 X card.

It worked fine for a month or two, then all of a sudden my entire screen went a weird fuzzy multicolour. When i restarted it, after the post screen i get the 8 blue dots/dashes at the top left of the screen, then a strip no wider than a few millimeters goes across the whole of the top of the screen in some kinda rainbow multicolour static.

After re-installing windows i thought i had fixed the problem, only for it to keep re-occurring again and again. I can usually get into windows after by doing a system restore but there is still something very wrong with my system.

I have tried MEMtest and the windows diagnostic for the RAM. all tests have passed. I have performed repeated stress tests on the GFX card and the CPU and they pass them (no crashes).

I have done a diagnostic on my SSD and the corsair app says its fine.

I am really at a loss as to what to do and have been battling with these problems for the last few weeks. My FPS is no-where near what it used to be in games, and my system has become sluggish.

If anyone has any ideas on how i can diagnose this problem i would be extremely grateful as this is really bugging me now...

Thanks in advance.

System Specs:

MSI Z77A-G43 Z77 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i5 3550 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
4gb DDR3 Corsair RAM (1800 MHZ)
AMD Radeon R 280 X 1GB
120GB Corsair Force 3 SSD
Corsair CX600M PSU
Windows 7 64Bit

Thanks for your answer.

Do you mean the memory of the gfx card or the RAM?

Because i have been using this RAM with this Motherboard for the past 2 years now.

Also, the Graphics card was working fine for 1-2 months before this issue occurred. I have installed and uninstalled various versions of the driver software and all have not fixed the problem.

It doesnt seem to want to do it this time. but my computer is still slow and sluggish. The CPU usage seems really high. usually floating between 30-40% and spiking up to 100% when Chrome is loaded. Is this normal? ive performed prime 95 tests with cpuZ and the clock speed is staying at 3500mhz as it should. is there any other way to test my CPU for errors?
