Hi I really need help you see I have a gateway ne56r41u windows 8 laptop and well some how I had gotten a super bad corrupted file that really mess up my laptop and I did everything to factory reset it an nothing worked so my dad took it home with him an see if he could take the hard drive out an try to factory reset by hooking it up to his computer but found out he can't cause it was protected some how where he can't do anything on it and get this the laptop isn't a year old I only had it a couple of months so my question is: Is there a way we can factory reset the hard drive when it is protected like that? Cause I would be very grateful if anyone could help me with this an tell me if there is a way to fix it before my dad send it to the manufacturer to be fix please someone help me with this

You can use softwares to do so, or you can try this to clear all data: go to start>disk_management>right_click(delete volume)>reactivate_volume>(or format) another is when you install windows------

Also try: go to folders you would like to rid: (example) E:>program_files>(right click) properies>security>advanced>change permissions>(choose your administrator)>apply>ok>edit>administrators>(check full control)>apply>advanced>change permissions>(check "replace all child object...">apply>ok>ok> you should have control over every folder in the drive

Wow you really don't know how to read a post right do you cause if you did you would of seen that I said in my post that my dad took my laptop to his house to see if he could take the hard drive out an try to see if he can factory reset it by hooking it up to his computer but found out he can't cause it was protected and how did he found that out maybe because he hook it up to his computer plus why would he have to mail it to the manufacturer to be fix for? Cause he called an talk with someone there plus they would of told him bout that
