If you have the money, consider buying Malwarebytes PRO. I have it myself and I love it. It is also made to run together with avast!, which I also recommend you to use. Malwarebytes PRO have real-time protection, but is not an anti-virus, so that is why you should have avast!, or something else together with it.
If you go ahead and do a Google search, you should be able to find a way to whitelist avast! and Malwarebytes, PRO version or not, together with each other, just to make sure. But I have had no problems running them together, whitelisted or not.
