Which is the best CPU from AMD

Solution

Yes, it has a lower OC record, and OC average. And yes, yes, that is correct.

EDIT: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/amd-fx-8370-fx-8370e-fx-8320e,news-48730.html

The 8320E and 8370E are out, and they are highly recommended because of the low TDP (check pricing)

All FX Series CPUs are unlocked and any unlocked CPU is overclockable...

That would have to be regular i5's... unlocked editions are in a higher price range. Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell $234.00 is the least expensive.

Yea, but the 8350 and the 6350 are basically just overclocked versions of the 8320 and the 6300, respectively.

If you're comparing the initial Mhz figure of 4644MHz vs 4704Mhz? that's not 100 but 60Mhz and if you're comparing the default clock of 3500Mhz vs 4000mhz, that is a 500Mhz difference, this alone tells you it is not the same CPU.

Other differences such as the Overclock record of 8171Mhz vs 8670Mhz tells us it is not the same CPU. If both 8320 and 8350 were the same, both would be capable of achieving the same approximate record.

Where you are correct is that these two CPUs are based on the same platform (Piledriver) but that is no secret, even the Intels have different models of the same platform Sand and Ivy Bridge, Haswell (sockets), those are the platforms and the different number designations are the different models (or improvements) of the same CPU platform.

Edit: The 125Watt TDP on both 8320 and 8350 also proves the 8350 is not an overclocked version of the 8320. If it were, it's TDP would be higher or the 8320's would be lower.

The figure was approximate. I just looked at the first 2 digits. As for TDP, that is simply the power limit it does not prove anything, except that they are both only allowed to use 125 W.

Also, by your logic the 6350 would be a worse chip than the 6300

Yes, that's why I left those two

EDIT: the different models of i3/i5 are just OC'ed versions, but at least Intel doesn't make it insultingly easy to OC them

How did you come to that conclusion? Was it not you that said: "Yea, but the 8350 and the 6350 are basically just overclocked versions of the 8320 and the 6300, respectively"..

To me that sound like saying the 6350 is the 6300 only tampered with to hike the price... and obviously a worse chip to buy.
