I think I'm bottlenecking but just came here to make sure.

AMD FX-6350
AMD R9 290
8gb 1600 RAM

When i play Metro Last Light I only get 45-50 FPS average, which is really bad for my card. Is my CPU the bottleneck? I'm probably gonna switch to an i5-4690k if it is.

It could be. In single player games though especially newer AAA titles, I doubt it.

Which settings are you getting that FPS at?

I'd set up something like MSI Afterburner, so you can have an onscreen reading of your CPU Load and GPU Load. If your CPU Load is reaching close to 100% on any of the cores, you may have a bottleneck.

You'll have to fiddle about in the settings to get it to show you the information on screen, but it will help you see whether your CPU is the bottleneck in this situation.

Alternatively you could try playing and turning down the graphics settings as you do. If you don't notice an FPS improvement then your CPU is the bottleneck.

Performance of that CPU looks...

Performance of that CPU looks generally ok.
