My girlfriends laptop is an acer aspire v5-531, I recently installed a game for her, lord of the rings lego, it gets very hot, was wondering is there a way to check what temperature is safe etc as she doesnt want to damage her laptop

Cheers

Download HWMonitor and check the temperature and also what processor does she have? And does she have a dedicated GPU?

Update: Okay so I checked the specs and she doesn't have a dedicated processor as well as the processor it self isn't really good or anything but still check the temperature with HWMonitor for the CPU and then come back with the results.

Nothing wrong with that. You should start worrying if it goes over like 70 degrees since it's a laptop but under 60 degrees is fine don't worry. Speedfan isn't really going to give different temperatures then HWMonitor. Btw if she has owned the laptop for a while try cleaning the fan for better performance with like a vaccuum cleaner or compressed canned air.
