Hello gents,
I recently built my own computer, and I have run into a problem. My Athlon ii 760k 3.8 GHz has been experiencing some strange jumps to 100% usage in the middle of games and/or semi-intensive use. I did not have this problem until recently and the only possibility I have come up with is that my PSU might not be strong enough at 500 watts. Battlefield used to run perfect on medium with no frame skips, but now I get jumps to about 20 fps to straight up freezing.

Here is my build:

Motherboard:
MSI FM2-A75MA-E35

CPU:
AMD Athlon x4 ii 760k 3.8 ghz

RAM:
Corsair Vengeance 4gb DDR3 x 2 (8gb)

PSU
CX500w

GPU:
MSI Radeon 7770 GHz Edition

Thanks :]

By the way, I have reset my OS several times. From Ultimate to Proffesional, still no change.

What is your hdd? if its older it could be maxxing out or could have loss some speed for the reads. The psu is fine i run a A8 5600k and the same gpu as you on a CX430 no prob, not sure on battlefield fps at moment as i got a A4 and trying that first. Battlefield is a demanding game for the gpu, cpu and ram. Is your ram set at for speed? what else is running in the background. Last thing is your driver for your gpu and other drivers up to date?

What do you mean by is my RAM set at for speed?

Nothing in the background, under 10 processes including Windows processes.

Is there a way to manually check for up to date GPU drivers with catalyst?
Everything else is up to date.

I think catalyst has a update checker or download the amd gaming evolved raptr progrram. Ram speed, 1333/1600/1866 etc? really 1333 is really the low point and 1600+ should be fine.

Run Ccleaner, and defraggler, and something that shows the read and write speeds of the hdd like hdtune, the read speeds of that drive should be about 100 MB/s if i remember
