Hey guys,
since yesterday, I started to hear a high pitch nosie coming from my pc. I thought it was weird but I didn't pay attention to it. 20 minutes later windows freezes. I restarted the pc, after five seconds it shuts down by itself, starts again but it doesn't show the bios promt of anything, just black screen. I had to reset manually the bios and I was able to go back to windows, 15 mins later same deal.
I basically disconnected most of the components individually, to see if the noise went away. I realized the only component I didn't check was the PSU. The noise, in fact, is coming from there.
Does this mean my PSU is faulty now and causing the freezing of windows?
is there a way to repair it?
these are my specs:

Intel core i7 930
PSU CoolerMaster 1000W
Mobo is ASUS P6X58D-E
12 GB RAM G Skill DDR3
GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost

Also I don't know if this matters but the electric outlets in the place I'm leaving are kinda faulty, the one in my room used to work, I used it to charge my phone but next time I tried using it, didn't work. it's completely dead.
Do faulty outlets can cause damage to the PSU?
