I have a NuVision tablet with an Android OS....apparently Adobe doesn't support Flash on this platform, and my 9 year old is going insane because none of his Nick Jr. videos will play; it just keeps saying, "You must have Flash installed to view this content", and since Flash won't install, I'm not sure what my options are - since so many sites use and require Flash, I find it hard to believe that I just can't view any of that stuff on my tablet. Is there something I can download that will be recognized when a site is looking for Flash? Thanks for any help! :)

Simple: you cannot.

Adobe discontinued support for Flash on Android in 2012 and the old package which can still be side-loaded onto devices does not work correctly with most Android 4.x builds.

Nickelodeon has an app for Android, that may have videos you can watch. Other than that, you need to use a PC or an older tablet and Flash version which may work. There are many kids shows on Netflix and Hulu also which have android apps.
