Questions about sata ports on mb's

Solution
Choose your mobo by the ports, options, functions and CPU type that you want. And make sure there are plenty of USB ports on the back as well as for the front of the case. Mouse, keyboard and other devices will plug into the USB ports.

So if I am going to have two ssd's, one hdd, and a dvdrw and later add a blueray player maybe, should I get one that only has 4 (if not going to get a blueray player) or should I have more in case I want to add more ssd's/hdd's or the blueray drive?

I will use the pc for gaming, 3D design/rendering, video editing, music production, graphic design.

It all comes down to the board you get and how much you pay for it.
Get a cheap board and you get less Sata ports, along with other options when you choose to add more components.

Buy a Mid or high end priced board and you find you get more Sata ports and other features for more expand ability.
If look at boards price a cheap one up then look at a £100 board plus you will see what I am saying. Mainly because the cheaper board uses less of a chip set that reduces expand ability options.
