FX 6300 6 core M51bc series (stock) RAM question

Hi everyone, I have the Asus FX6300 that comes stock with 8.00 RAM. I play FSX and I was wondering if putting more ram in would benefit my game, or anything else performance wise. If so, does anyone have any cheap solutions to upgrade my ram?

No, FSX is mostly CPU limited. You do need a good GPU to run it, but 8gb RAM is plenty.

Believe it or not, just stock AMD radeon R7 200, but honestly, I don't even know if that's a good card or if I'm reading the right thing to you out of the device manager for that matter, but I have been playnig FSX with addons and getting about 30 fps, beautiful graphics... what do you think?

What screen resolution are you playing at?

To find out what is holding you back, look at CPU and GPU usage. If one is significantly higher than the other, that is the limiting factor.

You mean check the cpu against the gpu while running fsx? How would I do that, by the way?

For the GPU, use MSI afterburner. It will give GPU information including usage percentage. It also will show the max usage percentage that the card hit.

For the CPU, a program like CoreTemp or even the task manager has one built in. there do not record max usage so you need to run the game windowed for a minute so your can see the readout while you play and see what the CPU gets to.

That is not one specific card. I need more info. It could be any of these: r7 240, r750, r7 250x, r7 260x. MSI afterburner will tell you which it is.

That is a BIG range of cards. The 240 barely able to run modern games at low settings to the 260x which can run AAA titles at 60fps at medium settings or better.

AMD Radeon R7 200 Series (and that's all it says), anyway to get more specs on it? COD Ghosts ran perfect, BF4 1 week demo I am playing runs great as well and FSX has been running beautifully, but I know that FPS were having a hard time overcoming 30-36 (fps)

Took me ages to find it out and I forget how I even did, but I am running the same computer and doing upgrades right now myself.
